I use the scooter just the same, even though it is well below 0°C at the moment.

I have a “blanket” covering my knees, and tucano protectors on the handlebar to keep me warm. I take the battery inside all the time, so there is no problem with the power delivery once I ride.

The battery still heats up enough even in these temperatures – after 20 minuts of riding I am at 35°C according to the app.

I don’t have winter tires, but am definitely doing that next winter!

This is very interesting! I love my new controller, but the startup in Mode 2 & 3 is extreme. Could you share your settings once you have found a good startup voltage value?

I agree with you – haven’t gotten round to looking for a replacement. In the German forum there are a lot of UNU riders who have bought new mirrors.

Side Stand switch does not work – meaning as long as “ready” is green, the motor will run.

I haven’t tried but will report when I do!

By the way, this controller is really well mapped. Mode 1 is uesless like always, but mode 2 accelerates to 51 km/h (so real 48, which is moped legal), and mode 3 took me to 68. Wouldn’t go higher.

just received the controller for my 2018 Niu N1.

It is different than the ones you guys have on your photos. It is an “LBMC060182HJ3a-M6”. I can’t find it anywhere online. This is rated for 60v not 72 like the rest. What I noticed immediately:

    • acceleration from a standstill is no longer as smooth – the only negative thing.
    • it accelerates really well to 60
    • no more lag
    • takes longer to accept “ready”
    • the “r” symbol for regenerative braking stays on two seconds after stopping,
    • regenerative breaking as a whole is much much stronger!

I was only able to take it for a quick spin.

quick question: does it accelerate at the same rate as before? Also, is there still that dreaded “TurboLag”, where if you accelerate to 40 kmh and then briefly let go of the throttle, it takes a long time to accelerate again? Thank You!

I recommend you buy ACF-50. I sprayed the entire bike in this liquid. It also removes some of the rust (I had rust on the clamp like Nils). The bike has no rust problems now. Just make sure the liquid doesn’t get onto the brakes!
